San Jacinto Intermediate and Sullivan Middle are contestants in the 2016 Follett Challenge, a program designed to give schools a chance to showcase an innovative educational program through a written application and video.
San Jacinto created a video showcasing the school’s reading culture, while Sullivan focused on their Makerspaces, which are aligned with high school endorsement requirements that students must have in order to graduate.
District stakeholders have the opportunity to vote once for their favorite video. The voting period starts Monday, Jan. 23 and ends Friday, Jan. 27. Twenty percent of the campus score is based on Internet votes, so every vote matters.
Thirteen prizes will be awarded. The Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the pool of semi-finalists and awarded an additional $30,000, for a total of $60,000.
