Eight students from Pasadena ISD have been named members of the All-State band and choir, the highest individual level in music competition students can obtain at the high school level.

“Arts education is not a frill; it is beneficial to every student,” said Dr. DeeAnn Powell, superintendent of schools. “The board and I are incredibly proud of these students and appreciate the hard work and talent it takes to become an All-State qualifier.”

Students named as All-State members are required to audition at the district, region and area levels. Over 60,000 students statewide auditioned in the process, but only about one percent receive the All-State recognition.
