The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) recently named PHS Coach Corey Krampen as a finalist for the Boy’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

TABC is the largest state basketball association in the nation with over 5,000 members. Their goal is to recognize and promote basketball at all levels throughout the state of Texas.

PHS Boys Basketball Head Coach Jason Pillow nominated Coach Krampen for the accolade.

“Corey goes about his job always putting the kids and program first, never seeking acknowledgement, sacrificing his own personal agendas and does so without complaint,” said Pillow in his letter to TABC. “If I were to leave my position tomorrow, Corey would be able to take over without hesitation.”

Krampen was selected for his dedication to students at PHS. In addition to his coaching duties, he has secured funds for the basketball program, mentored new coaches and tracked statistics for each game.

“Coaching is in my blood and being a part of molding a young person’s life is something I will never take for granted,” said Krampen. “This nomination is one I will be forever grateful for.”
