I am fixated on Jane Austen style books right now for my own pleasure reading. Currently I am reading Jane Bites Back by Michael Thomas Ford. The book's premise is that Jane Austen was changed into a vampire back in her Regency time period and now she lives in a small town in New York. She is working on getting a new book published over 200 years after Pride & Prejudice was published when the man who turned her into a vampire arrives in her new town.

I also picked up Mr. Darcy: Vampyre by Amanda Grange from the public library this week as well. I can't wait to start it.

I am also reading all the chapter books on this year's Bluebonnet List. I am currently reading The Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski. Next up -- one of the Lone Star list books for 2010, maybe The Season by Sarah MacLean. After all, it's a Regency novel.

I hope all my students are reading this summer as well. There are so many great novels out there right now.

Happy Reading,
