Pasadena ISD launched the Dual Language Program in the fall of 2005. The program offers the opportunity for native English speakers to learn Spanish and native Spanish speakers to learn English. Students in the Dual Language Program develop strong literacy skills in both English and Spanish. The Dual Language Program is offered at Garfield Elementary, Laura Bush Elementary, Fisher Elementary, Pomeroy Elementary, and Bailey Elementary, Milstead Middle School and Miller Intermediate. Pasadena Memorial High School will welcome Dual Language students beginning in the 2012-2013 school year.

Parents of students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2012 need to apply in order to participate in the program. Acceptance into the Dual Language Program is limited to space availability. Students will be required to take an oral language proficiency test. Prior to enrollment, parents will be required to sign a Dual Language program commitment form.
