We're Having A Ball In Physical Education!
The Pasadena Independent School District annual Get Fit Jog event was held on Saturday April 27th at the Pasadena Rodeo Fair Grounds. Atkinson had about fifteen 3rd & 4th graders participate in the event. In order to be eligible to participate, the students had to complete 40 miles or more during the school Get Fit Jog clubs this year. The 3rd graders ran a course that was a little over a mile and the 4th graders ran a 2.3 mile course. These students raced against all other students in their grade in the district who signed up. All students who participated in the event received a Get Fit Jog t-shirt and they will also receive a certificate at the end of the year. Great job to those who participate in the event, hope to have even more students next year!
RESULTS FROM RACE: (Top 35 students only) 3rd grade boys: Lael Martinez – finished 16th place Aaron Rivas – finished 27th place
4th grade girls: Lizbeth Pineda – finished 3rd place Ameera Roubi – finished 12th place
4th grade boys: Anthony Martinez – finished 19th place
Fitnessgram Third and Fourth grade students have completed their spring fitness gram testing. FITNESSGRAM provides accurate and reliable information about your child's level of physical fitness. The FITNESSGRAM test (and report) includes a number of different assessments, because fitness has multiple components. Some kids may have good muscular fitness, but need improvement on aerobic fitness. By having a complete report, you (and your child) will know more about their overall level of physical condition and how it can be improved. These reports will be distributed in your child’s end of the year report card folders. Upcoming PE Events:
