The Dobie Lariaettes participated in their first contest last weekend when they performed at the Crowdpleasers West Houston Regional Competition at Mayde Creek High School in Katy. The girls earned Division 1 rankings in all of their routines - which is a score of 90 or higher from all three judges.
Dobie also finished with four Division 1 soloists - sophomore Lorin Mata, junior Alaina Burns, and seniors Aracely Perez and Aimee Cessna.
The Lariaettes kick company placed second runner-up in all large ensembles. The military officers received first runner-up in all three of their routines - jazz, lyrical, and hip hop, finishing second to highly regarded Friendswood. Dobie also received an Outstanding Choreography Award for their officer lyrical.
Perhaps the highlight of the day a first runner-up finish for the Dobie military officers, second only to Friendswood.
Military officers are Colonel Aimee Cessna, Lt. Colonel Aracely Perez, Major Alaina Burns, Captain Jon'tay Warner, Lieutenant Alyssa Loredo and Lieutenant Elise Harper.
