Sam Rayburn's Texan Battalion last weekend won the La Porte Gulf Coast Invitational Military Skills Meet championship for the third consecutive year.
Event competition this year was significantly larger than previous years with 16 schools competing.
In the competitive event division, the Texans placed first in both male and female precision color guard led by team captains Darnal Thompson and April Reyna.
The Texans placed first in both male and female physical fitness led by team captains Jared Jones and Jessica Munoz.
Sam Rayburn also took first in Ranger Swim led by team captain Darnal Thompson.
In orienteering, the Texans took first in female competition and second in male competition led by overall team captain Luis Gutierrez.
In the esprit de corps division, the Texans claimed first place in push-ball and third-place trophies in both tug-o-war and the inner-tube relay.
The Texan Battalion's next major competition will be in March at the HISD Invitation Military Skills and Drill Meet at Cesar Chavez High School.
