Applicants: Heather Wheeler (primary), Douglas Reiland, Ashley Chapman, Christine Wright, Kelly Jurek, Molly Ganter (secondary)
Mini-Grant Name: Laptops for Fifth-Grade Science
Abstract: Our science program is geared for a love of learning. Our classrooms need to operate at a high student engagement level. We find that when we use technology, the students come alive and really enjoy the activity. They are able to make those learning connections. We want to build more of this excitement by adding laptop stations to our classroom-station, rotation-activities list. Students will be able to participate in Web Quests, data analysis, additional research, virtual labs and aligned website activities while other classmates are participating at a hands-on station or even a teacher station.
