2/08/11 > McMASTERS ES PHOTO: Fourth-Graders Tickle Elmo With Artwork

Students in Marisela Barrow's and Irma Martinez's bilingual fourth-grade classes took top honors in the Sesame Street Live Elmo's Healthy Heroes Classroom Art Contest recently. As part of a science unit on consumers and producers, students decided to make a collage of other students eating healthy snacks and exercising. Each student wrote two to three sentences on what being healthy means to them. Peer Facilitator Vicki Gonzalez coordinated the project. For their efforts, both classes received tickets to the show on Feb. 11. (Below) McMasters fourth-graders pose with their banner.
