Mark Wilkes, the "Omega Man" visited Stuchbery this week to perform feats of strength and to talk to students about the dangers of bullying. Stuchbery counselor Tina Jo Flotten's band of merry elves entertained their younger schoolmates again this year with a read-aloud session of Christmas books. The elves (in reality, third- and fourth-graders at Stuchbery) earn their elf caps by demonstrating good behavior. Each year they read alound to students from Pre-K through the second grade. Stuchbery's "Bee A Giver" program resulted in more than 300 books being donated by Stuchbery students. School counselor Tina Jo Flotten, who launched the drive, has encouraged Stuchbery students to share with less fortunate children. Vanessa Raymond, a student teacher at Stuchbery, was left a bit wide-eyed during a recent lesson. To begin, Raymond told the class, "One, two, three... eyes on me." The students happily complied.
