CHESS: Texan, Eagle Share Top Honors at Beverly Hills

  Angel Martinez of Sam Rayburn High and Stephen Lozano of Pasadena High tied for top honors in a chess exhibition sponsored by the Beverly Hills Intermediate Chess Club last Saturday.  Martinez and Lozano finished with five points each.
  Alan Deleon of South Houston High took third place with 4.5 points. Finishing in a four-way tie for fourth place were Giovanny Sigaran and Adonis Villarreal of Pasadena High, and Michelle Thomas and Alice Phan of Beverly Hills. Each had 4 points.

  A total of 22 students from four schools participated.
  The next scheduled chess event is the district championships in May.
