SCHEDULES, STADIUM MAPS BELOW

  Going into the 2012 high school football season, good news and bad news abounds for Pasadena ISD teams.
  The good news at Memorial High is a dream schedule. After their season-opener against Fort Bend Clements on Aug. 30, the Mavericks won't play outside the friendly confines of Veterans Memorial Stadium for the rest of the regular season.
  For Memorial, that offsets part of the bad news that has all five Pasadena ISD schools staring down far more foreboding path to the playoffs than in 2010 or 2011. Comfortably grouped in a six-team district those two years, the Pasadena ISD schools now move into an eight-team District 22-5A alignment that includes Pearland, Alvin and Manvel.
  Assured of at least three playoff teams the past two years, the Pasadena ISD is now assured of only one.
  Pearland, the Class 5A state champion in 2010, rates as a solid favorite to win the district title this fall. Manvel, moving up to the Class 5A ranks this fall, advanced to the Class 4A title last season. Alvin was 2-1 last season in non-district play against Pasadena ISD schools, beating Pasadena and South Houston while losing to Dobie.
  Memorial has the good fortune of catching Pearland, Alvin and Manvel at home this season, which means all of the Mavericks' seven district games will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
  Dobie, South Houston, Pasadena and Sam Rayburn each must face two of those three opponents on the road.
  Two new head coaches will be making their Pasadena ISD debuts when the season kicks off the final weekend of August. Chris Quillian was elevated to the top job at Memorial when John Snelson left for Dickinson. David Satcher takes over at Sam Rayburn, replacing Chris Bussey, who opted to join Snelson's staff.
  The Texans will launch homecoming season when they play Northbrook on Sept. 21.
  Other homecoming games: Dobie, Oct. 5 vs. Memorial; Pasadena, Oct. 6 vs. South Houston; Memorial, Oct. 12 vs. Pasadena; and South Houston, Oct. 13 vs. Sam Rayburn.
