Thompson students recently participated in the school's 10th Annual Great Science Food Fight, a competition between seventh and eighth-graders to see which group could collect the most canned food items. Students were given the option of donating canned goods or money. Students collected a grand total of $777.20 (representing 1,554 cans) and 1,262 actual cans for a total of 2,816 cans that were donated to The Bridge Women's Shelter in Pasadena. The seventh-graders took first place with a total of 1,706 cans. The eighth-graders gathered 1,110 cans. The food drive is sponsored yearly by the Thompson Science Department.
