SAM RAYBURN PRIZE PARADE: Texans Land Three Grants
Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Grant proposals by Sam Rayburn teachers netted three mini-grants, more than any other Pasadena ISD school.
Justine Henry and Judy Stepan landed a grant to develop a student-run catering service for the district. The Shell Oil Company Mini-Grant provides $5,000 for commercial quality cooking and serving-ware and utensils for large groups.
Jean Duffey and Nancy Tabor won a mini-grant providing for a Phase 3 in upgrades to mobile stations used by teachers who "float" from classroom to classroom during the school day. The Mel and Steve Cowart Mini-Grant is also for $5,000.
Sarah Carnes and Nikki Lewis won a mini-grant for the continued development of a College and Career Readiness Center at Sam Rayburn. The Roger, Morris and Grover, LLP Mini-Grant provides $4,997.95 for significant enhancements to current college-readiness support systems.
