Pasadena High art students Laura Arteaga and George Gonzalez participated in the San Jacinto College Bowl-a-Thon recently. Participants create ceramic bowls that are used to support the Houston Food Bank's fundraising drive, "Empty Bowls."
The local community was invited to come learn to throw or hand-build clay bowls. The college's Ceramic Club finishes the bowls and donates them to the "Empty Bowl" event.
In March, the public may attend the event. For a $25 donation, bowls made by local artists may be purchased by the community. This is the second year Pasadena High students have attended the event to help make bowls.
