Mini-Grant Name: Linking Literature
Abstract: Linking Literature is a program that integrates formal art and music instruction with language arts. As students are exposed to great literature, they will explore a story through music and art elements. This curriculum pairs trade books with classical works of music and art, culminating in response activities that demonstrate language arts, music and art TEKS. Students will display work samples at Family Literacy Night to raise community awareness of how fine arts can impact academic achievement and literacy. This grant will support the program by furnishing trade books and art materials for response activities.
