Shaw Middle School will host "Tweens Read" Book Festival, an event devoted to celebrating and promoting reading by connecting "tweens" with authors, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  All Pasadena ISD students in Grades 5-8 are invited to attend and listen to 13 well-known authors. Registration is free.
  The authors' books will be available for purchase and autographing. Concessions will be available during the lunch break.
  "Tweens Read" T-shirts and bracelets will be available for purchase throughout the day.  Various activities, such as bookmark- and button-making, will also be held for students.
