Keller hosted "Kell's Kitchen" last month, featuring 23 families in a cook-off. Students enrolled in the Texas ACE grant's summer program have been learning how to cook in Chef's Academy a the school. Families gathered in the Keller cafeteria, where they were taught cooking techniques that students learned during the week. Families were organized into three groups and given a chance to practice their skills. Groups were judged on teamwork, presentation, use of special ingredients and other criteria. The Pasadena ISD is hosting 10 programs this summer as part of an extension of the after-school prorams held at 10 district campuses during the school year. Event photo follows:
