Mini-Grant Name: Paint Me a Story-Linking Literacy Expansion Project
Abstract: Paint Me a Story is a series of community outreach projects to expand the current Linking Literacy program implemented at Gardens. Linking Literacy integrates formal art and music instruction with language arts. This expansion plan includes literary and creative activities for students, parents and teachers. These integration opportunities will extend the instructional day and reach the greater community by maximizing usage of the Linking Literacy multimedia center. This project further promotes awareness of the arts and its impact on the academic success of students and fosters a learning environment centered in creative expression for the entire school community.
