  PASADENA ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION MINI-GRANTS
  Applicants: Jamie Homburg, Laura Galindo
  Mini-Grant Name: "Thriller!"
Abstract: "Thriller!" is a proposal to bring a cafeteria stage in the grave to life again for the highly talented students at Teague. Our goal is to create a multi-purpose stage that can be used as a learning environment, a place to honor students' achievements and a meeting area for our students, faculty, staff, parents and our community. Our students and staff will be "thrilled" to have a technology-rich area for learning, creating, performing or celebrating. Our parents and community will appreciate a place to collaborate on "thrilling" ways to enrich our students' lives.

Amount: $5,000
  Sponsor: Sports Authority

  Applicants: Jamie Homburg, Laura Galindo
Mini-Grant Name: Launching Listening Labs for Literacy
Abstract: This year Teague is taking part in the Literacy Cohort Team, a district initiative in Pasadena. In order to support this initiative, classrooms need materials to enhance learning and give teachers additional support to work with small groups. Listening stations are excellent resources to have in each classroom in order to promote a strong and well-balanced literacy program. Supplying our kindergarten, first- and second-grade classrooms with listening stations will improve student fluency and create a successful learning and teaching environment for all students and staff within these grade levels.
  Amount: $4,991
  Sponsor: Rhonda Walls
