Top graduates set their sights on future goals

The valedictorians and salutatorians of Pasadena ISD's five high schools have put in many long hours of study to reach the pinnacle of success. As they enter college life, they have their eyes on their goals - and have made their plans to reach them.

Abigail Corrington is the valedictorian at Memorial High School. She plans to attend Rice University and major in linguistics and then attend medical school. Her future goals are to become a doctor of neurology.

Memorial's salutatorian is Sydney Nguyen. Nguyen will attend the University of Houston, where she plans to major in chemical engineering and then attend law school. She eventually hopes to practice law in the Houston area.

Edgar Nacianceno is Sam Rayburn High School's top graduate and he plans to attend the University of Houston. Nacianceno said he will major in mechanical engineering and plans to eventually go to work for NASA.

Lesly Delgadillo is Sam Rayburn's salutatorian. She will attend either the University of Texas at Dallas or the Art Institute of Houston, where she will major in digital animation.

Pasadena High School's valedictorian is Lindsy Rice. She will attend the University of North Texas in the fall and will major in English. Rice's future plans include a career in editing.

Elizabeth Benitez is Pasadena High's salutatorian. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in architecture. After graduation, she hopes to enter the architectural design field.

Brenda Tran is Dobie High School's valedictorian. She is attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall and is majoring in finance. After graduation, Tran plans to become involved in the international financial market.

Carol Nnabuife is Dobie's salutatorian and plans to major in math in college and attend medical school. She eventually wants to land a career as a pediatrician or in the neonatal field.

South Houston High School's valedictorian is Yesenia Guzman. She plans to attend St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where she will major in education. Guzman wants to become a teacher and eventually work her way up into school administration.

Cindy Le is South Houston's salutatorian. She is attending the University of Houston, where she will major in occupational therapy. Upon graduation, she plans to practice as an occupational therapist.
