Members of the cast and crew of Oliver! take a quick break before the show's final rehearsals.
Memorial's production of Oliver! has been nominated for three Tommy Tune awards including Best Orchestra, Best Costume Design and Best Supporting Actor-Armando Rodriguez.
Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced the nominees for the tenth annual Tommy Tune Awards on Wednesday.
The awards, named after Houston native and Tony Award-Winner Tommy Tune, are designed to recognize musical theater talent at the high school level.
"I am so proud of our production," Memorial's Director of Theater Charles Swan said. "The success of our nominees is shared by all those in their respective departments, from the musicians in the pit, to the stitchers and drapers in the costume shop and scene partners on stage."
The winners will be announced during a ceremony on April 17 at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts. The evening is set to feature performances from nominees and a grand finale, including two students from each participating school. Eight scholarships will also be awarded the night of the event.
Tickets for the ceremony will go on sale April 3 to the general public. For more information, call 713-558-2600.
