Students in the Keller music and art departments, in conjunction with the campus Communities in Schools Program, spread Christmas cheer to residents of The Courtyards, an assisted-living and nursing facility in Pasadena. The choir, band and orchestra serenaded the residents with a concert in the round followed by caroling for bed-ridden residents. The Art Club designed Christmas cards, and the Communities in Schools students distributed the cards to each resident. KELLER MS PHOTOS: Honor Band Keeps Busy, Bags Trophies

The Keller Ranger Honor Band won first place in the Battle of the Bands competition at the recent Battle of the Heroes, a flag football game between the Pasadena Police and Fire departments at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Several of the band's clarinet players also participated in the City of Pasadena's Holiday Lighted Parade. Keller Ambassadors joined the band members atop an Army truck driven by Lt. Steven Fife from the 451st Civil Affairs Battalion of the Army Reserve. Keller was awarded the trophy for Most Unusual Entry. Event photos right and below.

KELLER MS PHOTO: Fifth-Grader Applauded By Pasadena Police

Jesus Cortes, a fifth-grader at Keller, received a special citizenship award from the Pasadena Police for his reaction in resisting the taunts of a bully during a recent incident. He was presented with a certificate and a medal by representatives of the police department. Presentation photo follows.

Keller students took at hard look at future educational and career opportunities recently. In mid-November, Keller sixth-graders visited the University of Houston for a Kids to College tour. On Nov. 19, the third annual Career Day was held at Keller with over 30 presenters on hand. Event photos follow.
