The implementation of the American Film Institute Screen Education curriculum along with our Language Arts curriculum will allow students to take charge of their own learning as well as be engaged deeply in 21st Century skills. Using digital video, students will conceive and create works of visual art that demonstrate effective writing skills. The AFI curriculum will allow students to take traditional story writing and turn it into collaborative digital productions. Students from kindergarten through fourth grade will use the AFI process to become self-motivated, creative and collaborative writers.</span> <br/>

<span style="color: #000000;">Fourth-graders at Moore organized a "Save Japan" collection of funds to help support Red Cross efforts in Japan. After reading about the struggles of the Japanese people and viewing some of the images of the recent earthquake disaster, fourth-grader Krystalyn Garcia decided to do something about it. After obtaining permission from the school, she began making signs and collecting money -- $416 in all -- all of it to go to the Red Cross.
