<span style="color: #000000;">Richey librarian Mary O'Neal Majumdar brought home a mini-grant to be used for a "Literacy for 21st Century Learners" initiative. The project aims to improve student literacy by providing after-school libracy access with databases to increase reading skills. The Rohm &amp; Haas Texas/Dow Chemical Mini-Grant provides $4,640 for the project.</span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva; color: #000000; font-size: 13px;">Parents teammed up with their children at Richey Elementary earlier this month for the start of the Pasadena ISD's Gotta Keep Reading program. Parents took part in Books and Breakfast, a preschool reading program, held in the school library. Gotta Keep Reading stresses 15 minutes of sustained silent reading each day.</span>
