Longhorn Sponsorship Level: $50.00 donation to team- a thank you note with team picture enclosed.

The Dobie Football Program  is planning “Dobie Spring Game Fun Festival”  an afternoon of fun at the Dobie High School May, 28, 2013 from 2:30 to Dawn.

JV Plays @ 4:00 P.M.
Varsity plays @ 5:00 P.M.

Vendors can set up a  booth for $25.00.  to set up a booth they can contact Anna Flores 281-221-5602 or Caron Cantu @ 832-434-9770

We would like to invite the community to come out and support the teams and enjoys this event.
There will be activities for all ages from vendors and we will be selling BBQ plates for $5.00

DOBIE GOLF PLACES AT STATE!

Ben Arnett, a junior, competed in the 5A State Golf Tournament in Austin the past two days. Ben shot a 72 & 70 for a score of 142 and tied for 8th in the state out of 73 players !!! Ben is the first Dobie student to ever qualify for the state golf tournament.  Remember that name, Ben Arnett;  he'll be a pro one day!

Ben Arnett, junior golfer here at Dobie, placed first in regional competition today. Ben will be advancing to the state golf tournament in Austin representing Dobie High School. Read the story HERE.

Jackie Vasquez qualified for regionals for her third time in three years (she’s a Junior) She did not qualify for state, but did shoot the second best score of our district representatives.

 TYLER WOLFE WINS ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME SCHOLARSHIP

Terry Brotherton, chairman of the Hall of Fame committee, Tyler Wolfe, and Dan Pastorini former Houston Oiler quarterback and guest emcee, holding the $1,500 scholarship check during the PISD Athletic Hall of Fame.  For more pictures and information, please click HERE.


GIRLS' TRACK

 Freshman Justice Henderson qualified for Area in 4 events. She won the long jump, was 3rd in the 100 and she is a member of the qualifying 4x100 and 4x200 relay.  Also joining her on the relays are Sr. Essence Gilbert, Junior-Jayla Joulevette and Sophomore Makaila Singleton.

Also qualifying for Area is Sophomore Stella Somdah in the shot put and Jr. Brianna Guevara in the 1600 and 3200.  Area will be held on Friday, April 19 at North Shore, the top 4 qualifiers from each event will head to Regionals in Humble the following weekend.


LATIN CLUB WINS! 

The Dobie Latin Club placed 4th overall at our state TSJCL contest this week against 60 other schools.  Dobie’s overall score was 735, which was only 31 points away from 3rd place and only 104 points away from the 1st place team.
 
Five students won trophies for Highest Scores:

Brian Tran – Greek Derivatives
Brian To – Greek History
Christina Tran – Roman Life
Khoa Truong – Boys Dramatic Interpretation

 IT'S A WIN NGUYEN AGAIN!

Dona Nguyen, center, at the 2013 Culture Shapers Visual Art contest

Dona Nguyen, center, was announced as one of the top ten finalist in the 2013 Culture Shapers  Visual Art Contest.  Dona won first place in the mixed media category and received a $5,000 cash prize.  Her work was selected among 192 entries for mixed media from 30 different districts.

STATE VASE COMPETITION

Dona Nguyen won another gold medal at the State VASE competition in Bryan, TX on Friday April 5, 2013.  This is her 3rd Gold medal!
