The requirements for membership in the SHH are that the student must maintain an honor average in Spanish (85 or better), must be enrolled in AP Spanish, and must have an overall average of 85 or better. The sponsor should also include character, leadership, seriousness of purpose, cooperation, honesty, and commitment to others in the criteria for selection into the society.

The chapter at Dobie was started in 1972 by Felix Martinez. Our chapter name is “Zapata” Our colors are red and gold which are the colors of the Spanish flag. Our motto is “all together for one goal” (Todos a una).
