Newspaper is published every 4 to 6 weeks and can be picked up on campus.
The Chaparral is the student body newspaper for J. Frank Dobie High school. The newspaper is published once each six weeks grading period by the newspaper staff. Students interested in writing for the newspaper are encouraged to apply for staff in March of each school year. Staff members are selected based on an application, teacher recommendations, and writing skills.

The Roundup is the J. Frank Dobie High school yearbook. It is designed and published by the yearbook staff. Students interested in yearbook are encouraged to apply for staff in March of each school year. Staff members are selected based on an application, teacher recommendations, writing, and organization skills.
Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch Photography is the official photographer for Class of 2010. Only portraits taken through them can be published in the yearbook. Make up potraits will be taken on campus October 5-9. A $10 sitting fee will be collected. Seniors not photographed by Prestige Potraits by October 17 will not be included in the yearbook.
