Community Partnership and Transition Fair 2015
The ability for students receiving special education services to make a smooth transition from high school to a well-prepared future is achievable. The Office of Special Programs is hosting an event that will help guide families toward that goal.
Pasadena ISD families are invited to attend the district’s annual Community Partnership and Transition Fair, Thursday, Feb.18, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will be held at Pasadena Town Square Mall, located at 171 Pasadena Town Square.
Families will have an opportunity to connect with representatives from various vendors and non-profit community service providers to learn about options available for students ready to transition to adulthood.
Families will receive information on various services offered in the area including counseling, health care, mental health, local housing and the food pantry services.
Last year’s event attracted about 460 attendees, including 170 students and 30 local community service providers. Representatives shared information about educational opportunities, vocational training programs, employment, independent living opportunities, rehabilitation services, recreational options and other resources to help students gain independence.
The first 100 attendees at the Community Partnership and Transition Fair will receive free swag bags.
