FOX 26 Houston News personality Nate Griffin will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the Pasadena ISD Athletic Hall of Fame’s sixth induction banquet on April 14 at Phillips Field House in Pasadena.

The Hall of Fame is an induction ceremony that recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of esteemed alumni and faculty. The event annually features celebrated names in sports and sports news who serve as the emcee.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be a small part of a great event,” Griffin said.

Griffin, a sports analyst and reporter for FOX 26 News (KRIV-TV), covers professional, college and high school sports in the Greater Houston area, spanning more than 25 years, across various communication platforms such as radio, television and social media.

He started a career in broadcast news in 1989 as a Houston radio producer, weekday reporter and anchor. Griffin wore many hats during that time, juggling work as a public announcer for college basketball and radio color analyst for high school, college football and basketball broadcasts. Griffin rose up the ranks in the journalism industry when he became a weekday reporter and weekend anchor at KBMT-TV (Channel 12 News) in Beaumont, Texas.

Griffin moved on to become a reporter for the Houston Texans and contributing writer with regional and national TV networks including Comcast and ESPN3.

The former Southern Mississippi and Los Medanos College wide receiver just completed his 10th season as a radio color analyst for Rice University’s football broadcast.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Griffin at the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame induction banquet.

The ceremony will pay tribute to nine new inductees, including former high school student athletes, coaches and the Pasadena High School 1957 track team, who captured the state championship.
