Health Challenge

Over 500 Pasadena ISD employees from 38 campuses and 10 departments competed in the first district employee health and wellness challenge of the school year.

The challenge encouraged staff to complete at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily for at least 10 out of the 12 days of the challenge. Employees formed department and campus teams and exercised before or after work.

Campuses representing different grade level divisions with the highest participation received an engraved plaque. All individual participants received an athletic bag. The winners with the highest participation were recognized at the Administrative Council meeting at the Frank Braden Educational Complex in the Carmen Orozco Professional Development Complex on Wednesday.

The challenge was part of the district’s On the Move to Healthier You initiative, which emphasizes health and wellness in the workplace. The program was established in 2014 to help employees build stronger bodies and stronger bonds.

Campuses and departments will have another opportunity to join the healthy fun. As part of the district’s On the Move to a Healthier You initiative, starting Dec. 1 through Dec. 15, the next challenge will encourage employees to incorporate five servings of fruits and/or vegetables into their diet.
