The Justin J. Watt Foundation was recognized at the October 25 Pasadena ISD board meeting for donating over $135,000 in athletic uniforms and equipment to Pasadena ISD intermediate schools.

Over $96,000 of those funds have been distributed in 2016 alone.

“I thoroughly enjoyed being there and getting to meet everyone,” said Connie Watt, vice president of the J.J. Watt Foundation. “Seeing the kids and coaches and hearing how much they appreciate the uniforms and equipment was wonderful.”

Dr. DeeAnn Powell, superintendent of schools and Nelda Sullivan, board president, presented Watt with a plaque thanking her and the organization for their contributions, always dreaming big and working hard.

“This outstanding foundation has been instrumental in assisting our intermediate level athletic programs with the funds to be successful,” Dr. Powell said. “Tonight, Pasadena ISD would like to publicly recognize the J.J. Watt Foundation for inspiring our students to develop character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic and perseverance through athletics.”

Students and coaches from Pasadena ISD intermediate schools also presented Watt with gifts from their campuses.

Since 2013, the J.J. Watt foundation has contributed to the following Pasadena ISD football, track, basketball, volleyball, soccer and cheerleading programs through grant funding:

  • Beverly Hills Intermediate
  • Jackson Intermediate
  • Miller Intermediate
  • Park View Intermediate
  • Queens Intermediate
  • San Jacinto Intermediate
