Lewis Career and Technical High 2016 graduate Cristian Mendez has been chosen to participate in the 52nd annual SkillsUSA competition, Thursday, June 23, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mendez placed first in the state in electrical construction wiring to advance to the national competition.

Known as the world’s largest showcase of skilled trades, more than 15,000 students, teachers, educational leaders, and representatives from 600 national corporations, trade associations, businesses and labor unions are expected to participate in the competition.
