The Pasadena Early College High School has been named by the Texas Education Agency as one of 13 demonstration sites for the State of Texas.
With this designation comes a grant that will provide financial and technical support to high-performing ECHS campuses that are implementing defined best practices.
As a state demonstration site, the PECHS program will provide mentoring, technical assistance, webinars and open house opportunities to new and prospective ECHS school leaders.
PECHS has also been selected to present best practices content through the ECHS website and regional and statewide conferences.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen as a demonstration site by the TEA,” Aldo Prado, dean of PECHS said. “This is an amazing opportunity for not only the administration, but our students as well. Without the support of the district, this would not have been possible.”
The administrators of PECHS including Prado and PHS principal Joe Saavedra, along with a handful of high achieving students will travel to Austin to present two sessions at the ECHS Best Practices Summit in the fall.
