Pasadena ISD Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) will be joining schools across the nation in celebrating “Lights On! Afterschool” to raise awareness about the importance of afterschool programs to students, families and communities. The event emphasizes the need for continued funding to keep the “Lights On.”
The Pasadena ISD ACE Afterschool program invites community stakeholders to a three-day celebration showcasing afterschool programs in the district, Tuesday, Oct. 20 to Thursday, Oct. 22 in the lobby of the Pasadena ISD Administration Building, located at 1515 Cherrybrook. The event will feature daily performances, interactive demonstrations and artwork by students in the district.
Community members are also encouraged to visit any of the 19 ACE campuses in the district that week. Students from these participating schools will be demonstrating skills they are learning after school.
The event will highlight the significant contributions that afterschool programs make in keeping students safe and healthy; inspiring them to learn and helping parents become more involved in their child’s education, which research has proven, leads to better academic outcomes.
Parents, supporters, and community members are expected to attend.
