In honor of National Police Week, the Pasadena ISD Police Department held a ceremony to pay tribute to fallen law enforcement officers and honor the district’s 2017 Officer of the Year, Manrique Portillo.

The district annually takes this opportunity to honor officers who continue to protect and serve the Pasadena ISD community.

Among those recognized were Police Chief Stewart Russell for serving 25 years, Sergeant Jason Grice for fifteen years and Michael Spray and Joseph Barrera for five years of continued service at Pasadena ISD.

Additionally, Juan Cruz was also sworn in as the newest member of the Pasadena ISD Police Department.

National Police Week recognizes law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, as well as those who dedicate their lives to protect and serve citizens.
