New PrincipalsJeremy Richardson and Andrea Wenke have been named principals of Memorial and South Houston High Schools.

Memorial’s Mighty Mavericks and South Houston High Trojans will have two new principals taking the reins starting August 2016.

The Pasadena ISD Board of Trustees approved Jeremy Richardson to serve as principal of Memorial High and Andrea Wenke to serve as principal of South Houston High during the May 24 board meeting.

Surrounded by their new school families, both principals expressed excitement about their new leadership roles.

“I am honored for the opportunity to continue to serve our community, our students and teachers,” Richardson said. “We have a great school with great students and staff. I can’t wait to continue to support the amazing things that are happening at Pasadena Memorial.”

“This is such a dream come true,” Wenke said. “I met with the students and staff recently and they are doing incredible things there. I am very excited about joining the big red express as their school principal and look forward to continuing in their pursuit of excellence. I can finally say, ‘Go Trojans.’”

A Dobie graduate from the class of ’95, Richardson has served the students of Pasadena ISD for 14 years. He returned to his alma mater to start his educational career in 2002 where he taught world geography, government and coached football, soccer and golf. He continued at Dobie as a dual credit social studies teacher in 2007.

In 2009, he assumed the role of assistant principal at Memorial, where he will be finishing out his last semester this school year.

Richardson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Houston and a Master’s of Education in educational administration from Texas A&M. He has earned two standard certifications in secondary social studies and as a principal.

Richardson will fill the position left open by Memorial Principal Dr. Angela Stallings, who has been promoted to associate superintendent of campus development.

Andrea Wenke, an educator for 33 years, joins the Trojan team most recently as the principal of Southmore Intermediate. Prior to joining the Pasadena ISD family, she held several positions in Austin, Deer Park and Pearland ISDs.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in elementary education with an emphasis in math and a Master of Science degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in educational management.

Wenke has also earned two provisional certifications in elementary self-contained and elementary mathematics, a professional certification in mid-management administrator and a standard superintendent certification.

Wenke will replace South Houston High Principal Dr. Steven Fullen, who has been promoted to associate superintendent of campus development.

The board shared their sentiments about their new positions.

“We know you will do amazing things at South Houston,” said Nelda Sullivan, board member, about Wenke. “I feel confident to say that you will be a mighty Trojan.”

Fred Roberts, board member, has known Richardson since he was a young child.

“He’s a good man with a wonderful family and I am looking forward to seeing what you accomplish with this new opportunity.” Roberts said.
