Mariselle Quijano, President
elected May 2009

Mariselle Quijano was elected to the Position 2 spot, formally held by longtime board member Carmen Orozco in 2009.  Quijano is a Franchise Owner of several McDonald's restaurants in the Pasadena and Greater Houston area and is active in many community organizations and the McDonald's Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament.  She is a graduate of Sam Rayburn High School.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business (Accounting) from the University of Houston.  She has two children. She is also a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Nelda Sullivan, Vice-Presidentsullivan
elected in January 1993

Nelda Sullivan and her family have been residents of Pasadena since 1958. Since moving to the area she has been active in numerous community, civic and service projects. A retired banker, she served in an executive capacity for over thirty years. She was elected to the Board of Trustees for Pasadena Independent School District in 1993 and has been re-elected to consecutive terms since that time. Her present term expires in May 2021. She has held numerous positions on the board and will be the first to acknowledge that she is delighted to be a part of the 16th largest school district in Texas and to be a part of the great things happening in Public Education.

Nelda is Past President of the Board of Trustees for Bayshore Medical Center and presently serves as a sitting board member. Her involvement in civic and community activities include past leadership roles in the South Pasadena Rotary Club, Soroptimist International of Pasadena, Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, The American Heart Association, the Pasadena Police Academy Advisory Board, The Pasadena Philharmonic Society, a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America (all three grandsons are Eagle Scouts}, Pasadena-Hadano, Japan Sister City Association, serving as a Host Family on numerous occasions. She is a graduate of the Pasadena Citizens Police Academy. A member of Sunset United Methodist Church.

Sullivan has been honored as the Citizen of the Year by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and as a woman of Excellence by the Houston Federation of Business Women. She was also awarded a congressional certificate by the 29th Congressional District of the United States House of Representatives and by the City of Pasadena for outstanding community service. She was named Volunteer of the Year by the American Heart Association. Additionally, she is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Honored by the school district, a new middle school, located at 1212 Queens Road, in Pasadena was named the NELDA SULLIVAN MIDDLE SCHOOL. The formal dedication of this facility took place December 6, 2016. This school serves 790 students in 5th and 6th grades.

Even with the honors and accolades, family takes top priority in Nelda's life. She is a widow, (Charles passed away in 2010) the mother of three children, grandmother (MiMi) to seven and great grandmother (Gran MiMi) to fourteen.

Hobbies include quilting, gardening, and reading.

Jack Bailey, Assistant Secretary
elected May 2010 

Jack Bailey retired after a 33 year career in the construction equipment business, 28 of which were with the Case Construction equipment dealership here in South East Texas.  A 1967 graduate of Sam Rayburn High School, he went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a BBA (Management).  He and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, both products of the Pasadena ISD and graduates of Sam Rayburn.  Their wives are also products of Pasadena ISD and currently employed in the field of education.  The Baileys are active members of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena where he serves with the deacon body, and teaches an adult Sunday School class.

 marshall Marshall Kendrick, Secretary
elected January 1989 

Marshall Kendrick is the retired director and general manager of Maleic Anhydride Business for Bayer Corporation. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. He and wife Denie have two children, both graduates of Sam Rayburn High School. Kendrick is a deacon, Sunday School teacher and member of the finance committee of South Main Baptist Church.

Vickie Morgan is a homemaker and the mother of three children, who graduated from Pasadena schools. She has been honored with two Texas Life Memberships (1982, 1988), a National Life Membership (1989), and an Extended Life Membership (1991) from the PTA, was named Leader of the Year by the Girl Scouts of America (1984) and Outstanding Young Woman of America (1983). She currently serves as secretary to a city-appointed Board of Directors for the Pasadena Second Century Corporation, which is a non-profit industrial development corporation. Morgan is actively involved in the Girl Scouts of America, the Parent Teacher Association, and is an active member of South Main Baptist Church, where she serves as Sunday School and Vacation Bible School director and greeter.

Fred Roberts, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, is a self-employed insurance consultant with clients across the United States. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and is a member of NACE No. 114. Roberts is married to wife Vicki, a 1978 graduate of Dobie High School. They have four children, Zachary, Sara, Jacob and Jordan, who have all attended Pasadena schools, with three graduating from Pasadena ISD.

Fernandez Kenny Fernandez, Member

Kenny Fernandez, is the co-owner and President of North American Shipping Agencies as well as the owner of Little Longhorns Daycare in the south belt area. He is a graduate of Dobie High School and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Fernandez is married to wife Kasie, a girl’s athletics coach at Pasadena Memorial. They have two children who attend Pasadena schools.
