Career and Technical High School Maritime and Hospitality students are getting the experience of a lifetime this week as they take an educational voyage aboard the Carnival Triumph Cruise line.

Thanks to the support of several local business partners, nearly 20 students departed from Galveston Saturday, Jan. 16 to experience cruise ship operations from the hospitality and maritime point of view. Sarah Wrobleski, executive director of the Career and Technical Education department, said this experience will have long-term benefits for students.

The career market in these two areas are in high demand for quality employees and the goal is to open this as a possible career opportunity,” Wrobleski said “The education received will allow the students not only have an opportunity to enjoy the cruise, but view the employment opportunities for their future.”

Check in throughout the week for photos of this exciting excursion.
