RAISE YOUR HAND TEXAS (RYHt) has named Bondy Intermediate Principal Roneka Lee as an advocacy fellow for the 2019 legislative session.

RYHt sent Lee an advocacy fellow application request in November, 2018. With a keen awareness of the legislative process and a familiarity with the organization (after implementing their RAISING BLENDED LEARNERS initiative at Bondy Intermediate in the spring of 2016), she decided to apply. The selection process included applications, written submissions and interviews. Lee was one of only 18 candidates across the state of Texas to make the cut.

"I'm really honored to be named an advocacy fellow for Raise Your Hand Texas," said Lee. "I am a product of the public education system and I believe nothing is more important than fighting for our students and for all students across the state of Texas."

Lee and the other RYHt Advocacy Fellows will join over 400 Texas principals and administrators at the 2019 RYHt Leadership Symposium in Austin this February. Following the symposium, she will advocate to equip Texas public schools with more innovative programs, resources and high quality teachers at the legislative session.

The Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports initiatives structured to identify, pilot and scale systemic improvements in public education.
