Shannon Raygoza to be honored as TAEA Distinguished Fellow

The Texas Arts Education Association will honor Visual Art Curriculum Specialist Shannon Raygoza as the 2019 Distinguished Fellow during the organization’s fall conference in November.

The TAEA Distinguished Fellow award designation is given to individuals who have made meaningful, long-lasting contributions to the association and to the advancement of the art education profession.

Nominees selected for the recognition must have been an active member in the association for at least 10 years and demonstrated an accomplished artistic profile in addition to meeting other criteria, including:

• serving on a policy advisory committee,

• establishing and maintaining a TAEA speaker’s bureau,

• helping to promote TAEA in a positive manner,

• serving as an advisory group for financial decision,

• and providing guidance to emerging leaders. 

Raygoza, an employee at Pasadena ISD for 17 years, will be inducted as a fellow while attending the TAEA Fall Conference in Galveston on November 16.
