The tournament saw another successful year with a donation of $46,227 for the Deer Park Education Foundation and $150,074 for the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation.

During the presentations, Darla Haygood, volunteer coordinator for the tournament honored the volunteer of the year Kyle Ford.

"Kyle was always the first to set up his t-shirt booth in the mornings and the last to leave for the day," Haygood said. "With the many organizations he is involved in, I believe volunteer is his middle name."

Wayne Adams was also honored for his many years of service as a volunteer with the tournament.

Chris Bezdek, Pasadena ISD Education Foundation Immediate Past President, roasted Adams comparing him to the character Gru from Despicable Me. Bezdek then passed the mic to Ben Meador, tournament organizer, who spoke about Adams' commitment to the tournament.

Since its inception in 2003, the McDonald's Texas Invitational has provided nearly $1.5 million to the Pasadena ISD and Deer Park ISD Education Foundations, all of which goes back into local school needs.
