5164Carlos Garcia rushed for 186 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets rolled over Pasadena 50-7 on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Both teams will close their seasons next week. Pasadena, now 3-6 and 2-5 in District 22-6A action, will take on rival Rayburn on Friday night. Alvin, now 4-5 and 3-4 in league play, will host South Houston, also on Friday.

The Jackets took an early 7-0 lead on a 32-yard run by Garcia, but the Eagles answered quickly on a 10-yard TD pass from Valor Ojeda to Uriel Hill. After that, it was all Alvin.

Garcia added TD runs of 20 and 22 yards in the first half as the Jackets build a 27-7 lead at intermission. Alvin scored 23 unanswered points in the second half, Garcia adding a 10-yard TD to his team’s scoring effort.

Hill picked up 80 yards on five catches. Teammate Melvin Reyes chipped in 80 yards on the ground on 12 carries.
