9800Dobie’s softball team laid low for two innings before erupting for a dozen runs in the third and cruising to a 20-0 victory over South Houston on Tuesday, the first day of league play in District 22-5A.

Stephanie Buenrostro and Michelle Kristoff combined on a five-inning no-hitter for the Lady Longhorns, the only Pasadena ISD team to make the state playoffs last year.

Dobie pounded out 17 hits, including four by Emily Wolfe. Ashley Gallant drove in four runs for the Lady Longhorns.

Other Pasadena ISD teams endured lop-sided shutouts in their district openers. Sam Rayburn lost to Alvin 12-0, Pasadena fell to defending district champ Pearland 15-0 and Memorial lost to Manvel 9-0.
