DISTRICT FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS RACES INVOLVING PASADENA ISD TEAMS 1946 to PRESENT

NOTE: Listed are the champions from those districts in which Pasadena ISD schools competed from 1946 to the present. The list does not include multiple champions for those seasons in which one of more teams tied for first place. The team listed as champion is the one that qualified for the playoffs, or the one that would have qualified for the championship under original UIL rules allowing only one team to advance.

BEFORE 1946: Pasadena High began play in 1927 but did not compete in a district format until 1937. In 1937 and 1938, the Eagles completed in Class B. From 1939 through 1945, the Eagles competed in Class 1A. Both Class B and Class 1A were set up for smaller schools and only regional titles were awarded. Pasadena won a Class B district title in 1937 and reached the regional final. The Eagles won Class 1A district titles in 1940, 1943, 1944 and 1945 and reached the regional final in each of those years. The closest that Pasadena came to winning a regional championship was a scoreless tie against Nederland in 1944. In 1946, the Eagles entered the big school Class 2A ranks and immediately won a district title. In 1958, Pasadena reached the Class 4A state championship game and lost to Wichita Falls.
