Hall of Fame Scholarship 2024

PISD Athletics Hall of Fame Scholarship Application Open for Class of 2024

The Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is now accepting applications for its annual post-secondary scholarship award opportunity, sponsored by the PISD Education Foundation.

Scholarships, each totaling $2,500, will be awarded to two athletes. Award recipients are selected based on a rigorous application process that requires applicants to demonstrate good academic and disciplinary standing. Selection is also based on the student’s mastery of “skills and principles of the athletic programs in which the student has participated,” according to the application.

The scholarship program was developed as a way to support graduating senior athletes pursuing their career path at a post-secondary institution.

Students selected for the scholarship award will be invited to participate in a big check presentation during the Athletics Hall of Fame banquet on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, February 16, 2024
No late applications will be accepted.

Here are the eligibility requirements to submit an application.

The applicant must:

  • be a 2024 soon-to-be graduate of a Pasadena ISD high school (The student’s high school counselor may certify a mid-term graduate as eligible if that student meets all other scholarship eligibility requirements.)
  • be in good academic and disciplinary standing as indicated by the PISD PK – High School Student Handbook and 2023-2024 Code of Conduct Leadership Positions.
  • have completed two concurrent years at a Pasadena ISD high school.
  • have participated in a University Interscholastic League (UIL) sport during the student’s senior year; or have been eligible for participation and would have participated had not an injury or a situation beyond the student’s control precluded that participation; or must be a student of exceptionally high character who has made a substantial and profoundly beneficial impact on athletic programs at the student’s high school.
  • Preferred scholarship candidates will be those who have actively pursued admission to a tuition-based college or tuition-based career training program.
  • It is not required that a candidate pursue plans to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
