The Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) unveiled its biennial reclassification and realignment process Thursday morning. Pasadena ISD's 22-6A district reclassification will remain unchanged for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 athletic seasons.

The reclassification and realignment process, as detailed in UIL policy, is determined based on location and student enrollment.

As the realignment date approaches, coaches usually anticipate the addition of new competitors. This year, the teams will stay the same.

“With 22-6A remaining intact, it was a welcomed notification. We are familiar with our 22-6A opponents and we have a good working relationship with them. Also, their close proximity helps with travel. We are excited to get the 2022 season underway,” said Rupert Jaso, Pasadena ISD director of athletics.

UIL Texas Classification District 22-6A high schools include:

  • Channelview
  • Deer Park
  • Pasadena
  • Pasadena Dobie
  • Pasadena Memorial
  • Pasadena Rayburn
