Pasadena ISD Board votes to lower tax rate

The August 23, regular board meeting for Pasadena ISD brought some relief for Pasadena ISD taxpayers. The Board voted to approve a proposed tax rate of $1.33530 per $100 value for the 2022-23 school year. This approval reduces the tax rate from the previous year by $.0459 per $100 value.

Pasadena High School kicks off centennial year

Pasadena High School is celebrating 100 years of history and traditions with a kick-off homecoming celebration on Sept. 9. The festivities include an alumni meet and greet, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame Museum, followed by the homecoming football game, at 7 p.m., where the school will recognize this year’s homecoming court and alumni homecoming courts.

Last week, the J. Frank Dobie Speech and Debate team competed at the Speech and Debate Association’s National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. The tournament is the largest academic competition in the country with over 6,000 participants across the nation.

EDUCATION FOUNDATION


Education Foundation

The Pasadena ISD Education Foundation has been created to support educational programs for both the students and staff of the district. The foundation provides funds for educational programs and activities which either have not been funded or have been under-funded by the normal operating budget.

Distributed to teachers who apply in the form of mini-grants, the funds are used to facilitate innovative teaching strategies, energize student achievement and skill development, recognize and encourage staff excellence and expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
