Eddie Herrera, 19, is a recent Community School graduate. Like many students, the road to graduation was not a straight line for Herrera. Dobie High School’s Thespian Troupe, 1790, received an honorable mention for costume and scenic design during the Texas Thespian State Festival. Last Thursday, Be An Angel – a Houston-based organization that supports children with special needs -- stopped by the district’s Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) to unload a 16-wheeler full of gifts so they could be distributed to students in special ed. Throughout the day, SPED employees packaged the gifts and distributed them to students at each elementary school.
